Single-origin only

Every tin names its garden — no anonymous blends from unnamed estates.

Hand-picked leaves

Two leaves and a bud, plucked by hand — never machine-stripped stems.

Small weekly batches

We pack what's picked that week, so nothing sits in a warehouse going flat.

No additives, ever

Just leaf, and where a chai calls for it, whole spices — nothing artificial.

Six teas, one garden philosophy

Each tin is picked, dried and packed within the same week — the difference between a cup that tastes alive and one that just tastes hot.

We still pick by hand, because machines can't tell a leaf from a bud

Srishtea began with one family plot outside Jorhat, where three generations have picked the same two rows of bushes every March. We now work with five neighbouring gardens who share that same stubbornness about timing.

Every batch is steamed, rolled and dried within sight of the bushes it came from — the leaves never travel far before they're sealed.

How we brew it at home

Three steps, no gadgets required — the same way our tea-tasters check every new batch.

1

Boil fresh water

96°C for black teas like Assam Gold, just off the boil for green and white leaves — a hard rolling boil scorches delicate buds.

2

Steep by time, not colour

3 minutes for black tea, 2 for green, 5 for herbal infusions. Colour lies; a timer doesn't.

3

Strain and pour slow

Lift the leaves out the moment the timer ends, then pour in one steady stream to keep the aroma from escaping too fast.

What people say after their first cup

We ask every customer how the second steep tasted — this is the honest version of those replies.

Before you order

The questions we hear most from first-time customers.

How fresh is the tea when it ships?

Most tins leave our packing room within 48 hours of the leaf being dried, and we ship within a day of packing — so what you receive is close to the current harvest, not last year's stock.

Do you offer a subscription?

Yes — any tea can be set to repeat every 2, 4 or 6 weeks from its product page, and you can pause or change the flavour anytime before the next order is packed.

How should I store the tea once it arrives?

Keep the tin sealed, away from direct light and strong-smelling foods. Stored this way, most of our teas hold their character for about a year.

Do you ship outside India?

Not yet — we currently ship across India only, but international shipping is on our roadmap for next season.
